Castaic Lake - Lower Lake
The Castaic Lake Recreation area includes a beautiful lake, tubing, kayak rentals, swimming, fishing opportunities, camping, boating, hiking trails, and beautiful scenery. The park is over 11,000 acres large, and one of the largest state water project reservoirs in California! Castaic Lake is divided into the "Upper Lake" and "Lower Lake" by the Castaic Lake Dam. The Upper Lake is for boating activities, and includes two boat launches. The Lower Lake includes park areas and picnic tables, launch areas for non-gasoline boating (kayaks, float tubes, etc), and a designated swimming beach area. The Castaic Lake Beach has a lifeguard on duty, and is open Thursday - Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
Hours:Hours vary, depending on the time of the year. The park is generally open sunrise to sunset.
Entry Fees:Vehicle Entry Fee: $11 / Summer, $10 / Winter * Discount available for seniors.
RV's: $12 daily
Buses: $25 daily
Directions to Castaic Lake:Take the 5 Freeway north, past Santa Clarita. Take the Lake Hughes Road exit, and go east. You will see the park and signs for the park on the left, less than a half mile after exiting.
