From SCV Eats with Lady Ducayne:https://www.santaclarita.com/blog/view.php?blog_entry_id=31337 The Sake/Chop House Saga of Bridgeport has finally come to an end!  The beautiful space has now become Cuvée, and it can only get better from here. To recap, Sake Bistro changed names and became Chop House many months back, under the guise of new owners, when in reality there were never any new owners, it was the same guy running the place to the ground. After people realized that Chop House was nothing more than Sake with a new name and a fresh coat of wood stain, the place was then sold, and remained Chop House for a while longer. Realizing that the Chop House (or **** House as I lovingly referred to it) had a reputation beyond repair, the new owners (also owners of Hot Wings Cafe) recently changed the name, and transformed the space to Cuvée Bistro and Wine Bar.***attachment2***I actually went to Cuvée a few weeks ago, back when the name had first changed, and the menu was exactly the same as Chop House, except for the duct tape covering the logo. I had an array of mediocre Happy Hour items, and vowed never to return. I contemplated writing yet another post on how bad this place was...but never did. Then in recent days I had been seeing these new bright banners along Newhall Ranch advertising Happy Hour and lobster specials. Intrigued, I looked up their website and saw that it was all new, including the menu. Had they managed to turn it around in a matter of weeks? I headed there today to find out.***attachment4***The first thing we noticed when we sat down was new menus! We were there around Happy Hour, and we were presented with a menu full of $2 taco options. And, I don't mean typical carne asada tacos, these were actually "fancy" tacos. After starting off with 2, we ordered 2 more. The tacos we had were really good! Each had their own sauces and a distinct flavorful taste. I can totally see this being a snack on the way home from work. I can't think of anyone else in this valley serving up artisan tacos like these.  ***attachment3***Aside from the lunch tacos, this place has shifted its focus to seafood, and the dinner menu reflects that. There are chowders, oysters, and most importantly, lobster! For their grand opening, they have a special $20 lobster dinner which starts at 5pm. I'll be going back to check it out tomorrow for sure. LA Lobster Party is actually set up steaming lobsters for customers and as we were leaving, it smelled great. ***attachment1***Amazingly, Cuvee has managed to turn things around, which is a real testament in this town. It can only get better from here, and it seems like the beautiful space finally has a restaurant fitting of the atmosphere. I look forward to going back to try the lobster and more of the seafood dishes on the menu. There is no doubt that the new owners are trying to make changes and make this a place that people will want to dine at. Not everything we ate was a hit, but I know in time they will work out the kinks and this place will thrive.Cuvee Bistro and Wine Bar is located at 23885 Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia.

Actually, what I said is that it is COMPLETELY new and DIFFERENT owners than Sake. No relation at ALL. Trust me, they are making changes.

To recap, COMPLETELY NEW OWNERSHIP!
