Help Wanted: Sr. Accountant

SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is accountable for the planning, facilitation, timely completion of journal entries, account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations, and to fully meet the expectations and requirements of an external audit process, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for the managing the accuracy and collection of the Finance departments Sarbanes-Oxley documentation on a monthly basis as well as assisting with data collection and tracking for public filings

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and perform General Ledger account analysis' and reconciliations on a timely basis
Prepares journal entries on a regular basis and assists the Accounting Manager in ensuring the monthly close process is completed timely and accurately
Files and maintains general accounting and journal entry records and substantiating documentation
Monitors multi-state sales tax General Ledger accounts and prepares and submits corresponding sales tax reports, for approval, as required
Monitors, researches, and documents fixed assets additions, deletions and depreciation calculations for approval for entry into the third-party Fixed Asset program and prepares corresponding journal entries for approval
Performs bank and General Ledger reconciliations of the Wesco operational accounts on a monthly basis
Assists in the preparation of audit work papers for external auditors, insurance brokers, third-party 401k or benefit administrators and various governmental reporting agencies
Performs all duties in accordance with Wesco Accounting Work Instructions, as applicable
Attends company sponsored training or meetings, as required
Compile, audit and analyze financial transactions affecting the Wesco U.S. Income statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows for inconsistencies and unexpected trends and report findings
Assist in drafting accounting policies and procedures as needed for Sarbanes-Oxley
Prepare, quarterly and annual 10-Q and 10-K tie-out binders with data backup for all numbers included in the filing
Prepare 13 week cash forecasting model on a weekly basis
Performs special projects as needed
Uphold adherence to current Federal and State labor laws, Wesco employment, supervisory, safety and security policies, and conducts employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions, as required
Attend regular and impromptu Finance management meetings, and company-sponsored supervisory or training meetings, as required
Travel within the U.S., and may travel globally, as requested
Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years in public accounting required.
• Experience in working with audit schedules, costing, and Sarbanes-Oxley required
• Experience with Balance Sheet reconciliations and cash management or forecasting preferred
• Ability to consolidate financial reporting and analysis across a geographically disperse organization
• Demonstrated ability to develop models and other tools of analysis for financial management reporting
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, works well with peers and across functional geographical areas
• Must be detailed orientated with the ability to meet “hard” deadlines, with excellent organizational and time management
• Strong business acumen, with aerospace hardware industry knowledge a plus
• Strong ability to grasp strategy, analyze performance, and challenge current thinking
• Ability to effectively lead, train, supervise and motivate others to successful completion of goals
• Ability to manage accounting software upgrades and implementations, as well as maintain expert knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Access
• Strong use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Outlook
• Ability to travel, as requested
