Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects the lives of far too many people. No one should have to live under the shadow of domestic violence abuse.

No one deserves to be hit, under any circumstances.
Mental illness is often used as an excuse for domestic violence, but is rarely the real reason.
Drugs, alcohol, and stress are not an excuse, and are not the "cause" of domestic violence.
1 in 3 American women have suffered some kind of domestic abuse at some time in their lives.

The up side? There is help for those in domestic violence situations! Many victims can and do leave abusive relationships and go on to lead healthy, productive lives, away from violence.
